The last Concubine
As for this so-called art, I am very fond of kimonos and how they are designed. I have a kimono at home but it's just one layer. The inner layer and back then when my mom got it from my dad, she cut a bit of the lower portion as she said it was too long and so it end up being used as a bath robe.
This painting is an inspiration of that (not the bath robe but the kimono itself). I love the patterns that Japanese had created and how it looks so wonderful on a kimono.
The design within the circle on the background is also one of the patterns they use. The colors I chose are also one of the Japanese color combinations. Earthy colors, so to speak.
The girl's skin color is somewhat pale trying to make it lifeless. The "tattoo" from the back of the girl is a dragon. Having tattoos covering their back and extends throughout the body usually indicates that they are part of a group -- a Yakuza. Thus, giving the title some justice.
