Happy women's Day
For those who doesn't know what day it is today.
International Women's Day (8 March) is an occasion marked by women's groups around the world. This date is also commemorated at the United Nations and is designated in many countries as a national holiday. When women on all continents, often divided by national boundaries and by ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic and political differences, come together to celebrate their Day, they can look back to a tradition that represents at least nine decades of struggle for equality, justice, peace and development.

Ever read the book or the movie "Joy Luck Club"? I've seen the movie but never read the book. I wasn't much of a book worm anyway. Everytime an officemate of mine has a problem about their boyfriend or things that seems like they do not know their worth. I often tell them to read the book or watch the movie. I, for one, am not a great mentor or teacher on how other women should be thinking. It is their own belief and faith to realize who they are.
I am happy right now that I know my worth and that my boyfriend knows that too and he knows his worth as well. He and I shared the same faith of being taken for granted and maybe because of that he and I found each other. Anyway, enough about me... let's celebrate this day for all the girls. Mothers, sisters, aunts, and grand mothers.

i've read the book (for my novel review), and although it was heck one of the longest i've read after some time, it wasn't such a bore. well, generally anyway. but i genuinely thought that this book really stood out because it's such a pain to withstand culture shock (especially coming from the east and then gradually adapting to the rash western culture). more importantly, these women have gone through difficult times; they were ridiculed, ostracized and sometimes even denounced by society, but they kept moving on. it only goes to show that women can endure the worst of physical, emotional and psychological pain they can get.
Goodness, di ko na matandaan ung names nila. I think I read it noong 2nd year ako, and I remember crying a bit when I read the last part, the one w/ the reunion or something. Shux, i'm not lyk that when i read stuff, ha ha.
See you around! :D
